The Department of Immunology and Medicine, Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences (AFRIMS) is seeking an individual for the
position of Medical Research Technologist (Field Section) under the Cooperative Agreement (CA).
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
(1) B.S. or Masters Degree in Medical Technology or related filed.
(2) Working knowledge of clinical laboratory areas including serology, chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, and bacteriology. Experience working with malaria parasites will be considered favorably.
(3) Willing to travel to rural research field sites on a regular basis to provide laboratory support for AFRIMS’ clinical trials. Typical trip durations are from 5-10 days.
(4) Previous work experience in a hospital clinical laboratory will be favorably considered.
(5) Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
(6) Candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English (
TOEIC score of at least 600).
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
(1) Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
(2) The candidate must be able to obtain and hold medical and security clearances.
(3) The candidate must submit all the required documents as requested.
(4) Current employees serving a probation period are not eligible to apply.
