The Shoklo Malaria Research Unit currently has a laboratory position available for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic person. The work centers around malaria research in the areas of in vitro drug susceptibility testing of fresh field isolates, parasite genotyping by nested PCR, and measurement of parasite protein concentrations by ELISA. Training will be provided but a good knowledge in the biological sciences and experience in laboratory techniques is desirable.
The Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) is part of the Mahidol –Oxford University Research Unit and is based in Mae Sot, Tak Province and has been conducting malaria research in this region for over 20 years.

Other qualification:
Gender: Male Thai national (or fluent in Thai), with a Bachelor Degree in computer science or equivalent. Good command of the English
language (both written and spoken) good understanding of database architecture, software and database management systems good analytical skills. Applicants must be willing to be based in Mae Sot, Have a good disposition, integrity and the ability to communicate well and work with a multinational team.
Base salary is 15,000 – 18,000 Baht/month.
