POSITION: Medical Research Technologist, Dept. of Immunology
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. B.S. or Masters degree in Medical Technology.
2. Working knowledge of in-vitro antimalarial drug susceptibility testing using standard HRP2 Elisa technique is preferred. Performs continuous malaria culture for the purpose of supplying departmental research efforts with malaria parasites. Performs data analyses for in vitro drug sensitivity assays, maintains laboratory records and prepares reports of research findings.
3. Willing to travel to rural research field sites to provide laboratory support for AFRIMS clinical trails.
4. Familiarity with standard clinical hematology abnd chemistry assays (CBC, biochemical analyses, and others).
5. Willingness to become trained in microscopy-based malaria diagnosis with goal of diagnostic expertise.
6. Previous work experience in a hospital clinical laboratory will be favorably considered.
7. Candidate must possess fluency with Microsoft programs, such as, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
8. Candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English.
